Netball in Warrington

Junior and adult netball across Warrington — from four-year-olds having their first go with a ball to senior squads playing league fixtures every week.

A netball club in Warrington

Grappenhall & Widnes Netball Club started in Grappenhall, and Warrington is still where most of our teams train. We run junior squads from Year 1 right the way through to school leavers, plus senior netball for adults of any standard, across two venues in the town.

You don't need to have played before, own a kit, or know anybody at the club. Most players arrive knowing nobody — that's normal, and our coaches are used to it.

Players travel in from Grappenhall, Appleton, Stockton Heath, Latchford, Orford and Padgate, and we also run netball in Widnes if that's an easier journey for you.

Two free taster sessions

Every new player is welcome to two free taster sessions before deciding whether to join. No kit, no membership, no commitment — come along, have a go, and see whether it suits you.

Ages 4 to 18

Junior netball in Warrington

Our Warrington junior teams are grouped by school year rather than ability, so players train alongside their own age group. The youngest — Petals — is a playful introduction for Reception and Year 1: balance, coordination, catching, and getting used to being part of a team. From there, each squad adds a little more of the real game, until the oldest juniors are playing full league fixtures and preparing for senior netball.

18+

Adult netball in Warrington

Adult netball at G&W is genuinely open. Our senior squads include players who competed at school and never stopped, players coming back after twenty years off, and complete beginners who had never picked up a ball before their first session. Everyone trains together on a Tuesday evening in Warrington, and squads play league matches on Monday, Thursday or Sunday depending on which team you end up in.

Never played before?

If you've never played netball, Warrington is a good place to start. Junior sessions teach the game from scratch through games rather than drills, and our New to Netball guide explains the seven positions and the rules that actually matter before you set foot on court.

How to join

  1. 1Book a free taster session and tell us the player's age — we'll point you at the right team and night.
  2. 2Come along to two sessions. There's nothing to pay and nothing to bring but trainers and a drink.
  3. 3If it suits, complete the membership form. Fees and what they cover are set out on Membership & Fees.

Still not sure which session fits? Get in touch or email enquiries@gwnetball.co.uk.
